"I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him."
1 Samuel 1:27
Well, Hong Hui survived her medical appointment, Davis survived shopping for pearls,
jade and hairclips, Naomi survived cab rides across Guangzhou in my lap in the front
seat, Christe survived the rotating restaurant and I am surviving a late night post.

We began the morning with breakfast at the revolving restaurant on the 45th floor of
our hotel.  An extravagant spread.
We then quickly headed over to Hong Hui's routine medical check up for her US Visa.
It is usually pretty perfunctory.  That is until Hong Hui found out
she had to get two shots.
It turns out that she and Ming, the other older adoptee, were both required to get
a couple of vaccinations.  The pictures on the right are me giving her a hard time
and acting scared about her shots.  Ming screamed and cried.  Hong Hui smiled and
grimaced at me.  She is a tough cookie.

After the exam, we stopped by the Carrefour (local Walmart) store for some supplies
with the other two families.  We are here with two other families from our agency.
We are the smallest family even with five of us.  The Hammonds have 6 and the
Bowsers have 8.  We are quite the spectacle for all of China to see.  Especially with
so many blonde headed long haired boys.  If you would like to read our travelmates
blogs, they are:

We grabbed some Kentucky Fried Chicken for lunch and ate in our room quickly.  This afternoon we
went shopping with a woman who lives in Guangzhou.  Ann took us to
the Pearl Market, The Jade Market, The Toy Market and
The Wholesale Market(www.onelinkplaza.com.  We had a great time spent a little
money and bought many things.  Everyone had their favorites and I have
never seen so many pearls in all my life.  We found lots of Olympic merchandise
and quite few things for the girls.
Davis was a trooper even though we could not find the Legos we were hoping to.

When we returned with our bounty, the kids spread it all out over the room and split
it all up.  We even had an Olympic Torch run through the living area.

We had a wonderful Teppanyaki Steak dinner at a restaurant in the hotel and came back to hit the sack
after the kids modeled some more of the purchases.

Hong Hui's English continues to grow at a rapid pace.  We are amazed.

God is good!  We are blessed!

We are beginning to feel the desire to head home.  The thought of home and the routine is comforting
and a bit overwhelming.
