Day 11

Today was Naomi's medical check up.
Before that we let Davis and Faith play on the playground this
morning. We have become good friends with the Stowes. They
are from West Virginia and our kids love each other. Davis went
down to their room this morning for some play time while Naomi
napped. Then to McDonalds for some Happy Meals. We have
almost collected all the Happy Meal toys they offer in China. They
are fun and free.
This afternoon we had Naomi's checkup and she passed. It was
not much of a check up. Height, weight, temperature, hearing and a
overall look at her skin. She does weigh about 18.7lbs and is 27
inches tall.
The clinic is on Shamian Island where the European consulates
have been located for years. The architecture is beautiful. The
famous White Swan Hotel is there too. It is home to some of the
best baby shopping in all of Guangzhou. We shopped for about two
hours and bought Naomi and Davis several things including the
inventive squeaky shoes. The neat little shoes for children teach
them how to walk by squeaking each time they hit the floor.
Naomi loves them already. We think she will walk before she
ever crawls.
Tonight we are staying in our room for dinner. We ordered from
Danny's Bagels again. Danny is an American who has a thriving
business delivering American food to hotels in Guangzhou. It is
quite good actually.
It has been a good day. Naomi continues to change daily and grow
more fond of us.
We can't wait to bring her home.
