Day 12

September 27th -
Today has been an okay day. We went to a Traditional tea House this
morning and learned how to properly make and select tea. We tried many
different kinds. Of course, we were given the opportunity to purchase "the
best quality" tea pots made in China. We obliged.
Another lunch at McDonalds. Lunch seems to be the hardest meal to make
happen. Breakfast is always easy at the wonderful buffet in our hotel. Then
it is always an activity and before we know lunch is upon us. It is not easy
to make something happen quickly, so Mickey D's is often the easy solution.
The kids don't argue, but we sure are tiring of it.
After lunch, Naomi and Mommy went to the room for a nap. Davis and I joined
the Stowes for a trip to the park. We rode a few rides and walked a bit
before the rain started. It was really coming down and we were about a mile
and a half from our hotel. No umbrellas in sight. We just enjoyed the wetness.
Davis and Faith had fun.
We spent the afternoon in our room watching the kids play. Davis made
Naomi laugh hysterically for the first time. He was playing peek a boo with
her. She could not stop laughing. She kept handing the scarf back to Davis for
more. I posted a short movie clip below.
I almost forgot we were lucky in our timing when we arrived back at the
hotel after touring the tea house. There is a new bank branch opening in our
hotel and the were having a celebration complete with Chinese lion dancers.
Davis had a blast watching them. He has read about them in one of his books
and seen them at the acrobat shows we attended in the past.
Tonight we went to a local Mexican food restaurant. Very fair, but we
survived. Fajitas, quesadillas and chips(garlic french fries). Surprising
choices!
We are ready to be home. Naomi continues to struggle exerting her will. She
is very spoiled and screams often. Please pray for our endurance. Pray for
her spirit to soften. Pray especially for Christe as Naomi goes to her for
comfort. The load is taking its toll. Naomi only tolerates me at times when
she is rested and full. Davis has been a champ. He is a wonderful young boy.
We worry about the extra stress that this is causing him. We appreciate all
of you and hope you will keep us in mind.
