Day 14
September 29th - 8:20pm
Happy Birthday Naomi Tian Dodds!
We are thrilled to have enjoyed this day with Naomi in China. We had a
pretty relaxing day.
Our consulate interview was this morning. We did a little last minute
shopping. Ate a hamburger that actually tasted like a hamburger! That's
something special. We spent a much time playing with the kids today. We
also did some last minute visiting with our friends. Tonight we ordered
delivery of Italian food and purchased a cake for Naomi's birthday. We had
the Stowe's over and celebrated. We had a good time. Naomi really seemed
to like her cake. She continues to eat like there is no tomorrow.
We are very ready to be home. There has been lots of discussion in our
traveling group about what we want to do first. Christe and I cannot wait to
sleep in our own bed. One of my other favorite comments from our group is.."I
just want to stand in the shower and drink the tap water".
Our consulate interview went without incident. We will get Naomi's visa
tomorrow afternoon at the swearing in ceremony and be able to depart for
the USA. Yeah! We have our interview at 4:00pm and then depart Guangzhou
at 9:00pm for Los Angeles. We arrive at LAX at 6:50pm the same day.
Should I restate that? We will fly for 14 hours and arrive in Los Angeles 2
hours earlier than we left. What a strange thought. We will spend the night
in Los Angeles and fly home to Arlington on Saturday. We arrive at DFW at
4:55pm on AA Flight #2442.
Please pray for us as we travel. We are so thankful to our Father for this
awesome expression of His adoption of us into His family. We have now
experienced first hand what it is like to know no inheritance, to be chosen by
by One we have never known, to be held by Him, given His name, given His
inheritance and be loved forever! What a wonderous grace. May He allow us
to love Naomi in the same way He loves us.
Thank you Father!
