Day 6

September 21st - 8:00pm
Well, today has been a good day. Naomi woke up a bit unhappy, but took an
entire bottle of formula. This was the first bottle we have been able to get
her to drink. She eats anything we put in front of her from the table except
(ironically enough) Mandarin oranges. This bottle and an early morning nap
made for a good day.
Naomi has really bonded with Mommy and is still not too sure about Daddy.
Christe now has the ability to speak softly to her and it calms her down. She
does like to be held, but who blames her with all the change she has been going
through.
This morning we visited the Teng Wang Pavilion right next to our hotel. This
is one of the major sites in Nanchang. It was beautiful and included some lush
gardens. We saw lots of souvenirs that Davis loved including swords,
umbrellas, artwork made of butterfly wings and traditional hand fans.
This afternoon while Naomi and Mommy napped, Davis and I walked down to
the pedestrian street and all the way to the local market. This was about 3
miles round trip. Davis and I had a ball interacting with the locals. We
stopped at McDonalds and got Davis a toy and a coke. We had so much fun
that we took Mommy, Naomi and the Kosmans back for dinner and a stroll.
We shopped along the streets and had a terrific time. The weather was cool
this evening (85) with a nice breeze (wind). The temperature the past few
days has been around 95 with about 100% humidity.
I have included several pictures below.
Naomi sleep very well at night. She eats everything in sight. She comforts
herself by putting her arm up over her mouth and pressing her lip against the
fabric of her shirt. We see this all the time. She can be pretty fussy and has
a loud scream. She loves her toy Chinese drum. Her referral said she loved
this toy and it has proven to be true.
