We are safely in Guangzhou after a long day of travel.  Christe is going to
post our journal in a bit when we get settled.

11pm
So much for Christe posting.  She is crashed on the bed with Davis.  What a
long day.  Naomi and I went to pick up her passport from the Nanchang Police
Station at 11am while Christe and Davis stayed behind to pack.  Our bags had
to be in the hallway by 1pm.  We left the hotel at 2:30 and arrived at our hotel
in Guangzhou at 8:30.  Needless to say we missed some naps and some meals
in there somewhere.  Fortunately our hotel here has a McDonalds right next
door and we got a few nuggets in Davis and Naomi before they fell asleep.

Our hotel, the China Hotel by Marriott is wonderful.  This good because we
will spend the rest of our time here while we process the US side of Naomi's
adoption and citizenship.  Everything is official in the eyes of China.

Naomi continues to warm up to all of us.  She woke up this morning happy and
cooing in her bed for the first time.  She usually greets us with screams.  She
played contently all morning and enjoyed Davis a ton.  She even had a good
time on her date with Daddy to get her passport.  Baby  Steps!

We had a traditional Chinese dinner at a wonderful restaurant overlooking
the Teng Wang Pavilion last night with the Kosmans.  All the food was good
except for a chicken dish that must have been the elbows and ankles of the
birds and a meat dish that had a wonderful taste to it, but was full of bones.
The view was beautiful and the company was great.  A nice way to end our
stay in Naomi's home province.

We were a bit sad to say goodbye to our stay in Jiangxi.  We will return
with Naomi someday to visit her home.  Our guide expressed her gratitude to
us for adopting "China's most precious treasure".  She said we would
always be considered to be Chinese now and a part of their family.  She
asked that we come back someday.  Warm remarks from a wonderful
woman.
